ABOUT US The Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) knows that one grant can make a difference. Through collaboration with emergency service organizations, HIF funds emergency housing grants of up to $2500 to provide an immediate bridge necessary to keep individuals and families in their homes. Our one-time emergency rental assistance allows low-to moderate-income individuals and families who live “paycheck to paycheck” to weather temporary crises and remain housed despite unexpected changes in income or expenses.

Most shelters and non-profit housing providers lack financial resources, staff expertise and organizational capacity to renovate their facilities beyond routine maintenance. HIF fills this critical gap with access to the expertise and resources within the multi-family housing industry, including in-kind donations of material and labor, to complete facility renovations at no cost to the non-profit housing providers to improve the living conditions of their clients. HIF’s contribution allows the shelter provider to keep their focus on the needs of the community and the mission of each organization ensuring their clients’ needs

Our organization’s unique framework has remained the same since its inception; the Board of Directors provides all operational funding so that 100% of fundraising contributions go directly to support our two programs. The Board further extends the organization’s community reach by gaining the support of industry leaders who can leverage their resources, expertise, and skills to complete renovation projects for shelter facilities with facility needs such as electrical work, construction, painting, landscaping, and flooring.
