2018 GraduationMay 5th, 2018
5 months to go.

Yes, it is break week, but don’t you miss being on campus?  We miss you!  Here are some opportunities to learn, to connect, to meet new people…

DSC eventWednesday, October 22, 7PM, Cunningham Memorial Chapel.  FREE:  Dr. Sakena Yacoobi will be speaking about Women’s Education and Empowerment in Afganistan.  Spread the word; this is open to the public and looks to be inspiring, challenging, and very worthwhile. (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

Thursday, October 23, 4-5:30.  Pink Ribbons, Inc., a documentary film will be screened in the Sr. Dorothy Stang Conference Room (behind the Chapel).  This movie poses challenging questions about where funds are going, the origins of breast cancer, and more.  “Women who are fighting for their lives are also fighting to reclaim the true meaning of the pink ribbon.”  Read more on the flyer:

  1. Kim S. says:

Will the Pink Ribbons, Inc documentary be available for viewing at another time? As a (very) recent breast cancer survivor who resents the whole “pink-washing” of breast cancer awareness campaigns, I feel that this would be particularly meaningful for me. However, I can’t make the viewing because of my work schedule and childcare arrangements. Is there any chance to have the film available in the reference section at the library?

  2. Therese says:

Hi Kim: I’ll find out and let you know – having it at the library is also a great idea. More soon…. Warmly, Therese

  3. Therese says:

HI again, Kim. Jim McGarry is the Director of the Dr. Dororthy Stang Center and he has your question; he promises to get back to you soon and is definitely considering another showing. Hope that helps! Warmly, Therese
