Volunteerism is at the heart of Samaritan House. Volunteers provide a motivated, valuable and exemplary workforce at
Samaritan House. Our goal is to be the local volunteer organization of choice. The Director of Volunteers is responsible for
Samaritan House’s overall volunteer program experience, volunteer program development and activities under the general
supervision of the CEO and in collaboration with agency volunteers that may include members of the Board of Directors. This
position will provide leadership and strategic programming direction to the agency’s volunteer program while building on existing
efforts and plans. This includes forecasting, planning, outreach, recruitment, placement, orientation, training, reporting, analysis,
evaluation and support for all volunteers in the program. This position will also implement and create new strategies and
initiatives to retain and increase volunteerism. Volunteering is a key entry point for fund development at Samaritan House, and
the Volunteer Director will play a key role in ensuring the coordination of volunteering and development efforts, in conjunction
with the Director of Development.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing, energetic public and government affairs professional who can communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, inspire members of the putlic, engage potential partners, and strengthen the legislative program.
The Community Outreach Specialist schedules and coordinates public education events, connects with local employers and partners, fosters ongoing relationships with appointed and elected officials and other external stakeholders, develops opportunities to outreach to specific cultural and interest groups, and coordinates and directs outreach volunteers.
This Full-Time postiion will work out of the Administrative Office in Los Altos and be part of a strong, proactive, positive public affairs team. Bilingual abilities are highly desireable.

The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to
providing civil legal services to low-income residents of San Mateo County.
POSITION: The Legal Aid Society seeks a full-time receptionist. Duties include client
screening by telephone and in person, providing appropriate information and referrals, making
appointments, word processing, computer data entry, preparing and maintaining files, and other
general office/clerical tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: This is a customer service position. Applicants must have the ability to
handle four incoming telephone lines, as well as walk-in clients, while maintaining a
professional and courteous demeanor. The position requires handling a high volume of calls and
clients; working under pressure; typing a minimum of 50 wpm; and strong data entry and other
clerical skills. Previous law office experience preferred. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English
