Looking for an opportunity to help others around the holidays? Consider supporting NDNU’s Thanksgiving in the Park, in which NDNU students, faculty, and staff help provide a Thanksgiving dinner in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park to people who are homeless. See flyer. There are many ways to help:
Help with prep work next Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-6 in the cafeteria
Come to the park on Thanksgiving Day from 11-2. A group is meeting in front of the cafeteria at 9:30.
Donate needed supplies: stovetop stuffing, cranberry sauce, dog food, cat food, blankets, bottled water, fruit, packaged snacks, NON-perishables, granola bars, trail mix, feminine products, toothpaste
Needed! Volunteers to participate on a panel. Are you the first in your family to go to college? Dr. Peggy Koshland Crane, the Director of the Academic Success Center, needs panelists to speak to mentors and mentees on December 2 at 5:00. Please contact her if interested: 650.508.3670 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Come out and join the NDNU community as we team up with Second Harvest Food Bank and NBC on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Students, staff, and faculty will be out in front of Safeway at 1100 El Camino Real in Belmont to collect donations. Come and show your Argo sprit and purchase a $10 pre-packed bag to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara/San Mateo Counties. The “One bag, One day” food drive can make a difference to thousands of Bay Area residents.
Second Harvest has become one of the largest food banks in the nation, providing food to an average of nearly one quarter of a million people each month, the majority of which are seniors and low-income families with children. The food bank mobilizes individuals, companies and community partners to connect people to the nutritious food they need.
This weekend’s performances celebrate the end of the semester and spotlight the talented students in our Vocal Performance and Camerata classes. Admission is free to both events. Please come to lend support!
