This just in, from the Belmont Patch:
2013 Coastal Cleanup Day is Sept. 21
Belmont residents who want to stay close to home can meet at 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot of City Hall, located at One Twin Pines Lane. Volunteers will be sent out to various locations throughout the city. The cleanup will take place from 9 a.m.-noon.
Last year, volunteers collected about 42,000 pounds of trash in San Mateo County, according to the San Mateo County Health System.
The county urges volunteers to bring their own bags or buckets to collect trash, as well as gloves and a water bottle.
Water and refreshments will be provided at the Belmont location.
